DME MS42 PINOUT HOW TO

I just didn't have time to try ISTA with the cables yet. After I did that I was able to read DSC and DME using the AUTEL tool. So instead of hunting modules throughout the car I digged through the schematics to see if there was an easier way to disconnect the modules from the K-BUS and what do you know all of the K-BUS lines come to one terminal block behind the glove box. I suspected it to be the bus communication issue so I decided to disconnect all of the modules that use the K-BUS since its the largest bus on the car and I already tested the CAN bus (at least the impedance check was good). I finally was able to communicate with the DME on the car!! So far I only tried the AUTEL scanner. My experience with E46 is very limited, I have a customer with an E46 M3 that I put rod bearings and control arms in but have not played with the DME, CAN network or the associate wiring in an E46 before.I guess I can't say that anymore.Ĭlick to expand.3 different cables AND an AUTEL scanner lolīut I have some good news. no start.Ī bit about myself, I am a Master Audi tech with a big passion for BMWs, I've had countless E30's, one E32 735IL, two E24 Euro Spec 635CSI, one M-Sport E38 740i, two M-Sport E39 540i 6-speed.I still have one of them right now actually. I am able to bypass EWS and crank it but without the DME coming on there will be no spark or fuel so. It was towed to me last week as a last resort, I'm slowly chipping away at the problem but needless to say, no start yet. Previously it ran fine with a misfire(blown head gasket).

This car got a used engine 6 months ago and has been in the same shop since unable to crank and start again. I could have a bad DME but chances of both being bad are.i don't know, not very likely.I already know 15 is missing so that's a problem, I'm curious if any other power supply wire, positive or negative is missing.or if i have a CAN problem.ĭoes the terminal 15 comes straight from the ignition switch or does it have a corresponding relay? I tried a used MS45.1 DME not expecting the car to start or even crank because of the EWS but I just wanted to see if the DME comes on and I can communicate with it.no dice. I can communicate with the transmission, immobilizer, abs, etc but not with the engine control module.all these modules have faults like "no communication with DME". I have terminal 30(B+) and 31(B-) but I'm not getting a terminal 15 with the key on, if I give it 15 manually the relays click, fuel pump primes but no check engine light comes on and the temp gauge defaults to hot(which from I understand is missing signal from the DME).

That would be amazing, thank you in advance.
